NSW: Police led on high speed chase over 115km
A man has allegedly taken police on a high-speed chase over 115km to avoid a random breath
test in southern New South Wales.
A police spokesman says the cars reached a speed of 150km/h during the chase, which lasted
40 minutes.
A 40-year-old Newtown man is due to appear in Goulburn Court today, charged with driving in
a dangerous manner, drink driving and other traffic offences.
It's alleged the man's blood alcohol reading was 0.085.
The spokesman says police stopped a car in Queanbeyan about 5.40pm (AEST) yesterday to
breath test the driver when he allegedly sped off as police approached.
The car travelled into the ACT, where the officers lost it, before the chase resumed later
north of Queanbeyan. The car eventually crashed into a post near Goulburn.
